You will need: Red and cream fabric | Navy fabric with white or cream stars | Scissors | Ruler | Straight pins | Thread and needle

This is a simple little project with a big bang at the end. What better way to decorate for this important holiday than to have a red, white, and blue pillow to accent a bed, sofa, or outdoor furniture?

Step 1: Cut two rectangles from red and cream cotton ticking at 2” x 2 1/2”.

Step 2: Cut one navy cotton square 1 1/4” x 1 1/4”.

Step 3: Now place the navy square at the top left side of the ticking fabric.

Step 4: Pin it in place and sew the attaching navy square to the red and cream fabric. Trim the threads.

Step 5: Place the second piece of fabric rectangle face down onto the pillow front. Now pin the two pieces together.

Step 6: Sew three sides of the pillow leaving one end open.

Step 7: Turn right sides out.

Step 8: Work on the corners with a straight pin to form a nice point.

Step 9: Stuff the small pillow with a small amount of polyester stuffing. You don’t want it too full.

Step 10: Turn the raw edges of the pillow in at 1/4”. Pin first and then sew it closed using a threaded needle. Trim away the extra threads.

Place this sweet little pillow in your patriotic scene and enjoy!
